Membership Terms & Conditions

Who can become a member?

All users of Göttingen Minipigs for biomedical research purposes or stakeholders, except commercial breeders of non-Göttingen Minipigs, having an interest in sharing knowledge and experience in the use of Göttingen Minipigs in biomedical research, can apply for membership. All applications will be reviewed before membership is granted. An MRF membership will provide a login to the “Members area” part of the website, invitations to participate in MRF events and meetings, and the opportunity to engage with fellow members via the interactive Forum, MinipigNet.

Membership

An MRF membership is personal, and the email address associated with the membership must adhere to an organisational/company email address (preferably no Gmail/Hotmail or general company email addresses allowed). The membership is cost-free, but to attend the physical 3-day meetings, members must buy a ticket. However, this attendance is optional.

Member profile

Members are expected to keep their profiles up to date. To maintain a relevant and active network, members are also expected to validate their information and reconfirm membership when requested by the admin, generally once a year. As a default, all members are subscribed to receive notifications by email from the official announcements channel on MinipigNet. This is to ensure that all members receive important information from the MRF organisation and the Steering Committee. You can unsubscribe from these notifications at any time; however, it is recommended that you stay subscribed, as notifications may require your feedback or concern your membership.

Non-commercial purpose

Members acknowledge that MRF is a non-commercial network intended for knowledge sharing, collaboration, and mutual support. It is therefore not allowed to share content with the sole purpose of advertising one’s own products and/or services. Promotional content, unsolicited offers, or sales pitches are strictly prohibited. Likewise, members agree not to treat other members as potential clients or customers, leads, or sales prospects.

Sharing of personal data

Upon membership application and confirmation of membership, members accept that the data provided in the application form will be visible to other members. The purpose of this is to facilitate the professional network, which defines the foundation of the MRF. However, members are prohibited from sharing, distributing, or disclosing any other member’s name, contact information, or personal details to non-members or other third parties. Automated or manual collection of member data for external use is not allowed under any circumstances. Please read more about how the MRF manages personal data under Privacy Policy.

Confidentiality

Discussions and shared content within the forum are to be treated as confidential unless explicit permission is granted by the original author.

Community integrity

Members are expected to act in good faith and contribute to a respectful, inclusive, and supportive environment.

Violation consequences

Breach of these terms may result in suspension or permanent removal /cancellation of membership.
